This encourages a good all round knowledge which will help the children in their lives both now and in the future.

I encourage all children to have positive self image, self worth and a strong independence.
All children who are able to do so are encouraged to put their empty plates/ cups and cutlery in the sink, place their own coats on their individual pegs and pictures in their drawers. This encouages an understanding into 'housekeeping' which will be beneficial in years to come.

I also encourage celebrations of other cultures such as chinese new year, diwali, Holi ect this encourages a sense of diversity for the children which will also be important through out their lives.

Childminding Vacancies!

My aim is to provide a fun, secure and happy environment. For all the children within my care to recieve the best care and have the chance to gain new experiences. For every child to be treated fairly and as individuals. I encourage this by allowing children to make their own choices with guidence and help if needed.

I currently have several childminding vacancies.

The First Steps

1. Inquiring about a place
When you inquire about a place for your child(ren), I will take your address and post a leaflet with information about my setting for you to browse and then we will set a date for you to come and visit the setting along with your child(ren).

2. First Visit
At the visit you will be able to look around my setting, read through my policies and procedures, talk with me about the hours and days you require. This will enable you to make a choice about whether my setting will work for you and your child(ren).

If you do decide you would like your child to attend my setting we will the set up a contract meeting.

3. The Contract Meeting
During this meeting we will discuss your child(ren)s hours, days, start date, personal routine and personal needs and preferences. We will go through the contracts and agree on settling in periods for your child. I will also give you a parent pack with all the policies and procedures along with all the information about my setting. You will be asked for a £15 admissions fee, to cover paperwork costs, once your child has been at my setting 2 months, I will deduct this cost from your child's fee's, therefore refunding you the full £15 paid. If your child does not start or leaves within the first 2 months this £15 becomes non refundable.

4. Securing Your Child's Place
Just before your child(ren) start, you will be invoiced for 1 months/weeks, dependent on how you are paying. Throughout your child's time at my setting fee's will be payable in advance, this is to ensure that fee payments are always up to date.

If you wish to hold your child place for longer than 4 weeks you will be asked to pay a retainer 50% of each months fees. This is non-refundable. This is because as I am holding this place open for you I am unable to fill it until your child starts.

5. Settling Sessions
Settling sessions are important so that your child can become used to myself, the setting and such a big change without feeling too overwhelmed. The amount of settling sessions will depend on how well your child settles in. Settling sessions will be around 1 or 2 hours long and the first session you will need to stay with your child this session is free.
* 8 hours settling in sessions is included in you sign up fee and is refundable off your second months invoice.
Should you leave within the settling in period the sign up fee becomes non refundable and covers the cost of your settling in sessions and the cost of the paperwork used.

6. Making the Right Choice
I understand that your children are the most important things in your life and that your child being cared for by someone else is a very worrying and daunting prospect. I also understand that the first few weeks will be extremely stressful for you. Therefore with every new child I include a 4 week settling in period into the contract. This means that if you are not happy or are finding the process too much, you are able to cancel the contract and only the 4 weeks will be payable, This is also the same for myself. I don't anticipate any problems with new children and work with parents to ensure the best possible start into my setting and then throughout their time but it is important to me that all my parents and children are happy and feel comfortable.
